As a spiritualist, I know that time is an essential element for manifestation; as a Believer, I know that although things are always working in our favor, they are still subject to God’s timing. So what do we do with all this time while waiting for the Universe to deliver?
Living abroad has expanded my appreciation for the rainy, contemplative waiting seasons. Here, when it rains, it pours—but the “Ticos” don’t curse the rain. Instead, they pull over, pause, and wait patiently, intuitively knowing that with enough time, the rain will dissipate and the sun will return. Rainbows, the sweetest fruits, the greenest produce, replenished streams and waterfalls—these are the products of abundant rainfall. With enough time, seeds implanted will sprout, plants that have been nurtured will blossom. Both rainy and dry seasons are necessary for regeneration and procreation.
Faith Lesson 1: Trust the Waiting Seasons
Life’s “rainy days” are not obstacles—they are preparation. God’s timing is perfect, and every pause in your journey is shaping you for your next level.
What I am requesting—or better yet, summoning from the Universe—is more time ahead. The vision in front of us is grand and expansive. I want the time to see our marriage actualize as God’s plans continually unfold. I want time to grow alongside my husband until we are both full-headed grays—laughing, holding hands, dancing, traveling, growing wiser, getting stronger and more resilient with each season.
I want time to harvest the fruits of many years of teaching, guiding, nurturing, and raising our son into manhood. I want time to witness how he contributes to and changes the world, his fruitfulness replicated across generations. I want more time to see God’s grace in real time as our dreams manifest, as “no ways” turn into “hell yeahs” because we continue to evolve, uplift, and persevere. I want the rewards promised by focus, patience, consistency, and effort—I want compound interest on our cumulative investments.
Faith Lesson 2: Patience is an Active Practice
Waiting isn’t passive. Each day of patience strengthens your faith muscles and allows the seeds planted in your heart to grow fully, under God’s guidance.
Transformational Practice: The Waiting Journal
Each morning, write down one area of your life where you are waiting for change or manifestation.
Reflect on what you can do today to nurture that seed: a prayer, an action, a thought, or simply observing the lessons of the waiting period.
End your day with gratitude for what is already growing, even if invisible.
The vision in front is grand and expansive.
Let this truth anchor you: patience, faith, and daily alignment with God’s timing are not wasted. They are the work that makes your vision possible.
Where in your life are you being called to trust the waiting season? How can you nurture your seeds today while remaining patient for their harvest? Share your stories in the comments section below.
